Shimano has issued a product safety recall on some of its road bike brake cables. Read USA Cycling's report for more information.

Cycle Sports is performing cable replacements for all affected parts in compliance with the recall program at no cost to the consumer.

Team Oakland Cycling has reserved use of the Hellyer Park Velodrome on February 12th from 12:30 to 3:30. No experience is necessary, the session will be run like any New Rider morning session, using the guidelines on the website: http://www.stanford.edu/~roadman/Bike_Racing/NCVA/SatAMBeg.shtml. Rental bikes are available to use with your own pedals. For more information or to indicate need for rental bike, please contact Kathleen Kubal.

Trumer Pils comes on board as the club's new co-title sponsor. The Trumer Brauerei in Berkeley produces a world-class pilsner style beer in the tradition of craft brew methods practiced for centuries. Trumer Pils was founded in Obertrum, near Salzburg, over 400 years ago.
